Youth Leadership Council

YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL PROGRAM

Program Objective

To educate, train and encourage youth to become aware and involved in the operation of their Senate and TNBA.
To foster the spirit of good SPORTSMANSHIP, FELLOWSHIP, AND FRIENDSHIP
To increase interest in the game of bowling.

Our vision is that youth bowlers would develop a love for the sport of bowling through sportsmanship, fellowship and friendship using TNBA certified youth bowling programs that fuels their desire to continue bowling and supporting TNBA throughout their adulthood.

Operation
The program operates on two levels:
Senate (Youth League) level provides opportunities for junior bowlers to:

  • Actively participate in their league operations.
  • Be a part of the decision making process.
  • Provides a base for future Senate members and leaders.
  • National Youth Leadership Council Representative to TNBA Convention*.
  • Provides an opportunity for youth bowlers to experience TNBA first hand.
  • Play an active role in shaping the future of youth league bowling.
  • Provide a base for future TNBA members and leaders.

Both of these levels are explained in detail in the Youth Leadership Council Program handbook (see link below). If you would like a hard copy, send e-mail to: TNBAJuniorCouncil@TNBAinc.org.

Our 2023 National Youth Leadership Council Representative is Leo Parnell.

Leo Parnell is a high school senior from Toledo, Ohio. After graduation he will attend Eastern Michigan University to study product design, a field that combines his passions for creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. He says he has been bowling since he was a kid and it has become a big part of his life; “I’ve had some great moments on the lanes, including a high game of 275, a high series of 699, and a high average of 175. Bowling has taught me a lot about discipline, patience, and strategy, which will serve me well in college and beyond.” Leo is grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have brought him to this point in his life and is excited to see where his journey will take him.
